The Nyle Mulkey Chose Bluebird Day Foundation (NMCBDF) is a non profit society that was created in 2018 for the purpose of sponsoring young adults from the West Kootenay region to develop their skills in the backcountry. Inspired by the life of Nyle Mulkey Chose who was pursuing his passions right up until the moment he left this realm.

Funding application criteria and process
To qualify you must:
- reside in the West Kootenay Region
- be 19 years old
- be a Canadian Citizen
- be actively pursuing a career in the backcountry (ie: guide, avalanche tech, etc)
- demonstrate a need for financial assistance
- demonstrate a deep commitment to protecting the backcountry and those who recreate in it
- have completed AST 1 & AST 2
- provide a letter of support from an industry professional

Applications will be sent to people who meet the above criteria on April 1st.
The submission deadline is May 1st . Successful applicants will be contacted in early June.
